Travel Timeline

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara

The journey begins with a scenic drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city and the gateway to the Annapurna region.

Day 2–3: Pokhara to Jomsom

Travel continues towards Jomsom, either by flight or road. The landscape changes dramatically as you enter the rain-shadow region of Mustang, with dry valleys and strong mountain winds.

Day 4: Jomsom to Kagbeni

The trek begins with a gentle walk to Kagbeni, an ancient village with narrow alleys, traditional houses, and a strong Tibetan influence.

Day 5: Kagbeni to Muktinath

This is the most important day of the trek. The trail ascends gradually to Muktinath Temple (3,800 m), offering panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurna peaks.

Day 6: Exploration Day at Muktinath

Visit the sacred Muktinath Temple, the 108 water spouts, and nearby monasteries. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritually uplifting.

Day 7–10: Return Journey

The return route descends through villages such as Jharkot and Jomsom, followed by travel back to Pokhara and Kathmandu.

The trek lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area. The route follows the Kali Gandaki Valley, one of the deepest gorges in the world, surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks.
